TT-1 (Tomi's Tesla Coil I)

I have always been interested in energy - especially energy which goes from one form to another with a flash, bang or boom. Since tesla coils are one of the more spectacular ways of wasting energy, I have wanted to build one for a long time. I obtained three 3kV/50mA neon transformers years ago, and finally during autumn 2003 I finished the project. On 11.12.2003 was the "first light" day for my coil TT-1. (I'm not sure that it needs a sequence number, but hey, engineers love cryptic acronyms... :-) ) After getting the first version working well, I partially rebuilt it for higher power levels (the Mark 2 version).

Richie's Tesla Coil Page
the best introduction to the theory of the practical coil operation I have seen.

Matt Behrend's Tesla Coil Web Site also very good information of the theoretic side tesla coils.
